Rock Garden Interlude
Area:
West Caicos
Water temp:

Not such a bad day on the water. Dolphins greeted us as we exited the cut to the deeper waters at West Caicos, and even performed a couple of great 'wake jumps' to delight us! Both of our dives produced multiple Sharks and Turtles, and then on our way back to the cut we spied a Humpback Whale! This guy wasn't sticking around, and was travelling pretty fast, but we had a few glimpses of him (or her?) coming up for air as it travelled South! We were thrilled! And just when we thought it was over, a Spotted Eagleray jumped out of the shallow water of the bank, twice! Very cool!! Congrats to Steve today, who completed his PADI Advanced Open Water Course, with flying colours! Next stop...Rescue Diver in Lake Winnebago??? Brrrrrrrrr...........

Boat:
Flamingo Spirit
1st dive:
Devils Horn
2nd dive:
Boat Cove
Area:
West Caicos
Water temp:
79°F (26°C)

What a day at West! The first dive was 'quiet' for the first 1/2, and then it all seemed to happen at once! Hawksbill Turtle, who was then joined by some Shark showed up to cruise around our dives. As if that wasn't good enough, three Bottlenose Dolphin swam right through our group! Dive two also offered up some Reef Shark, Moray Eels, and Stingray! Not too shabby!

Boat:
Flamingo Spirit
1st dive:
Amphitheatre
2nd dive:
Eel Garden
Area:
Northwest Point
Water temp:
79°F (26°C)

A brisk wind didn't deter us today from having some great dives at Northwest Point! While we had just one Reef Shark sighting, we had great 'critters' - Spiny Lobster, Coral Clinging Crab, Red Banded Lobster, Bristle Worm, and a pair of Scarlet Cleaning Shrimp that we rarely see! Also, topside we were thrilled to see today when we passed by Southwest Bluff, aka Osprey Rock, the appearance of 2 baby Osprey chicks sticking their heads out of the nest! We've been watching the Osprey sit on her nest for sometime now, so it's exciting to see the end result!
