Women in Diving - Page

Page and Karee (You'll meet Karee later) started diving with us about 15 years ago...first there was 2, then 4, then 6 and now a full complement of 8 awesome, funny women fill our boat once a year for one of our most fun weeks! She is a confident and competent diver, and she and Karee instilled confidence and good dive skills in the divers that came after them! We appreciate their humor, their competence, their love of the marine world, and their friendship, and look forward to their visit each year! Here's what Page has to say about her diving journey to date!

Name: Page

Day Job: Self employed

Certification Level: Rescue diver

How many years i’ve been diving: 20 years

Favorite dive buddy: Karee Lang

Do you own your own dive gear? Yes

How often do you dive? 2-4 trips a year, ~ 10-20 dives

How long have you been a ‘Flamingo Diver’?: maybe 15 years?

My Favorite TCI Dive site is: G Spot, French Cay or Tons of Sponge, West Caicos

My Favorite thing to see on a dive is: TCI: Eagle Ray, turtles and flamingo tongues. More and more observing fish quirky behavior

Macro or Big Stuff? Both

Top of my marine life bucket list? Schooling hammer heads are next on the list

If i had one dive trip to choose anywhere in the world I would go: Raj Ampat or Galapagos

Favorite thing about the sport of diving: the peace under the water while exploring another world

Favorite dive moment to date: Love any swim throughs and exploring. Swimming with whale sharks and sea lion in Sea of Cortez

What marine life environmental cause is near and dear to your heart (ie, plastic garbage, over fishing, captive mammals, whaling, shark finning or?) plastic and garbage

Diving is my happy place because: I am able to leave the chaos of my job and enjoy the order of the ocean

What else can you tell us about your diving journey to date? (any obstacles you’ve over come, what has surprised you, loved, etc): getting lost unable to find the boat… became a periscope to peep above the surface to re-focus in order to get back. Yes, broke the rules but respectfully took my time and aware of surroundings.
